Pop-Break Live: Panic! at the Disco (Pine Belt Arena)

When Panic! At the Disco first announced their new album and tour I couldn’t have been anymore excited. This was a band that I grew up with and never had the opportunity to see live. Their debut album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat, is one of my favorite albums of all time. It is one of those albums that I revisit at least once a year. I finally got my chance to see them for the first time in February at the Roseland Ballroom before it closed down. They were incredible live and I knew if they were ever coming back around I would have to catch them again.

Fortunately for me they not only came back to the east coast, but they also brought along two amazing bands, Magic Man and Walk the Moon. This was not only a great lineup of some of my favorite artists; it was one of the best tours of the summer. Magic Man just released their debut album, Before the Waves, and played tracks such as “Paris,” and “Texas” to a very receptive crowd. The crowd went roared as Walk the Moon began their set with their hit song “Tightrope.” They played an insane set filled with songs from their self titled debut, as well as new tracks from their untitled sophomore album that is due later this year.

After Magic Man and Walk the Moon, it was time for Panic! Led by lead singer Brendon Urie, Panic! At the Disco exploded on to the stage with “Vegas Light,” a song of their latest album Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! They would go on to play songs such as “Time to Dance” and “But It’s Better If You Do” from that first album that started it all. The biggest surprise of the night was their surprise cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. It was unexpected, welcomed, and incredible. Overall it was a phenomenal show and I couldn’t be any happier that Panic! At the Disco is back and here to stay.
