FX has just unveiled two new promos for the upcoming second season of their anthology series Fargo, inspired by the Oscar winning Coen Brothers comedy by the same name. While official plot details have yet to be revealed, the previews offer some cryptic clues about what to expect, and recreate the quirky tone the show is known for.
In one promo, we see Patrick Wilson (Watchmen) and Ted Danson (Cheers), both of whom are playing police officers and speak in the same amusing accent that Frances McDormand made famous in the original film. But, in the other, more revealing promo, we see Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), whose character appears to be scrubbing blood off her fingers, before a noise snaps her out of a trance and we realize she’s actually at a hair salon and that her hands are covered in red dye.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, the second season boasts some big names, including Jesse Plemmons (Breaking Bad), Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation), and Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame who will be playing Ronald Reagan. It’s also been confirmed that the new season will take place in the 1970s, and that Wilson will be playing a younger version of Keith Carradine’s character from season 1.
No official start date has been set for the new season, but it’s expected to return in September. Check out the clips below:
