I was late to the party on the new James Bond.  I like the first ten minutes of Casino Royale, but everything after that was total garbage, and Quantum of Solace might as well have been a Michael Bay movie.  Then Skyfall happened.  They got a great director in Sam Mendes, a kick ass cinematographer (Roger Deakins), and brought in Javier Bardem to play one of the greatest Bond villains we’ve ever seen.  What I also loved about Skyfall is that it’s one of the rare Bond movies that is a personal vendetta story and not an end of the world scenario.  We’ve never gotten to know MI6 and James Bond himself like this before.  With Spectre being the title of the next film we are clearly morphing back into the old ways, but Skyfall was a fantastic bridge to take us there.  I trust this creative team completely.  Bond me up.
