The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 6 Review: Lots of Questions to Be Had

Last week was a terrific episode where we witnessed Negan’s escape and him heading into Whisperer territory. So of course I was anxious to see where The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 6, ‘Bonds’ would take us. Needless to say, I enjoyed The Walker odd couple we got last night between Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Beta (Ryan Hurst) when they crossed paths.

As soon as Beta met Negan, he instantly didn’t trust him, but Alpha (Samantha Morton) thinks that Negan would be a great adversary to Alexandria and the other communities since he was a prisoner for some time now. While Negan’s out with Beta and The Whisperers, he keeps talking to Beta, annoying him throughout, until Beta leaves him to die at the hand of the Walkers. As Beta heads back to camp he tells Alpha that Negan didn’t make it, but unfortunately for Beta, Negan didn’t die from the walker ambush, and returned to the camp, blood splattered and Lucille full of walker brains. Negan kneels to Alpha saying he’s ready to become one of them.

Meanwhile throughout the episode, Darryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) head out to look for Negan. Carol believes that he might be heading to the Whisperers. Darryl doesn’t really trust that’s what she really thinks, but still tags along with her. She eventually comes clean and tells him that she’s hunting down Alpha’s heard, saying the only way to defeat the Whisperers is to destroy or take over their herd of walkers.

Darryl still doesn’t trust her 100% so when she walks away to go to the bathroom, Darl look into her bag to see if she brought her gun. They encounter a small herd of walkers that’s led by a few Whisperers and when the threat is neutralized, Darryl sees that Carol has a Whisperer tied up and wants to take them back for questioning.

Last, but not least, we also encountered more of Siddiq’s (Avi Nash) PSTD. I hope this finally leads somewhere because so far this season I am losing interest in it fast. Also, Eugene hears a new voice over the radio. They share a few moments together, and had a great conversation with one another. Might this lead to a new location for the group to head to soon? Does Negan have ulterior motives for entering the Whisperers? And what will the Whisperer share to Darryl and Carol? Hopefully those will be answered next week, or weeks to come this season.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 6, ‘Bonds’ is now streaming on the AMC Premiere App, and AMC’s website.
