New Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Trailer Features Huge Reveal

Spoilers Ahead — You’ve Been Warned…and You’ll be Warned Again

Chris Pratt aka Star-Lord showed up on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! to premiere the second full trailer for Marvel’s latest epic, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.

The trailer expounded on the film’s plot — introducing to new worlds, a new villain named Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki – The Night Manager, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) and…SPOILERS…the reveal of Star-Lord’s father, Ego, played Kurt Russell. We were also given an expanded look at what Yondu (Michael Rooker), Nebula (Karen Gillan), and the Ravagers will play in the film. Undoubtedly there will be a tie-in into the Infinity Gauntlet storyline as well.

The trailer is set to “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac which means there’s an insanely high chance it will end up on the movie’s Awesome Mix Vol. 2 soundtrack.

The film, due for release on May 5, 2017 features an ensemable cast featuring: Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Diesel (Baby Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Glenn Close (Irani Rael), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha), This is Us’ Chris Sullivan (Taserface), Tommy Flanagan (Tullk), and Kurt Russell (Ego). Sylvester Stallone, Nathan Fillion, and Stan Lee are slated to have cameos — no word on what they will be.

The film is written and directed by James Gunn.
