Socially Distanced #207: Deadpool & Wolverine + Bridgerton

The Socially Distanced Podcast is hosted by two pop culture obsessed dads who decided to take their Facebook messenger conversations and turn them into a podcast. In 2022 they brought their friend, a pop culture obsessed mom to the show, and things got even better!

Join hosts Al Mannarino, Amanda Rivas and Bill Bodkin as they discuss everything in the world movies, music, sports, television and pop culture — everything keeping them sane in this time of socially distancing. This podcast is powered by ThePopBreak.com.

It’s Social Season on The Socially Distanced Podcast or should we say posh-cast. Yes, we’re heading to Shondaland to discuss Netflix’s undeniable hit series Bridgerton.

This is a special episode, as in the hosting chair will be Vanessa Gonzales — a longtime Bridgerton superfan and the sister of Amanda Rivas.

Vanessa takes a merry band of podcasters including Bill Bodkin, Pop Break’s viscount of podcasts Alex Marcus, and making her Socially Distanced debut — Pop Break’s TV Editor and fellow Bridgerton superfan, Avani Goswami.

In the episode they break down the relationships between Simon and Dafney and Antony and Kate and Edwina. Things gets a bit controversial as the gang seems to think the show’s famed “I Burn For You” scene was fairly lame as compared to Season 2’s “You’re the bane of my existence” moment. Lady Whistledown would be so proud of us.

They also discuss, Simon’s ridiculous hang-ups, the diversity in the series, repression, aquapoppins, death by rain, the spin-off series Queen Charlotte, how lame the Colin Bridgerton is (and why Penelope deserves better), and of course the unabashed horniness of the entire series.

Oh, and buckle up for one of Bill’s most bonkers introductions ever.

The pre-game segment is the polar opposite of all things Bridgerton — the latest trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine.
