Adrian is still reeling from the most terrifying dream he’s ever had. He is still trying to call Sid. If you read issue #1 you already know Sid has been murdered. The police are already on the gruesome scene. In case you’ve forgotten Sid was tortured then had his throat slit. And, poor Adrian is clueless to this, and desperately trying to reach him in hopes of reversing the hypnosis.
Adrian is at his wits end. He wakes up to find a locust in his mouth while doing his morning routine. He knows something terrible is happening, but doesn’t seem to be able to grasp what fully. He makes plans to meet with his helpful friend Molly at a diner. From here he blatantly blames her and Sid for losing his mind. He tries to ask her what he said and did during the regression therapy but Molly refuses to share information. She reminds Adrian that he has to discover these things in his own time.
Adrian then heads into work and falls asleep. His boss heckles him over this and Adrian goes from an apologetic mess to having the absolute upper hand. Adrian grabs his boss in a chokehold and scares him so bad he pisses himself. From here you can see “Adrian” going to a strip club. Seems very out of his character, and he does some not so savory acts at the club that even further will have the reader realizing Adrian may not be Adrian anymore.
Of course you can also look forward to seeing some dark and twisted past life memories in this issue too. We get a taste of something foul from centuries ago. I wonder what God/Goddess Adrian’s former life was devoted to. Obviously this deity only seeks chaos from the little snippets we get to witness. The pieces are all falling into place. As Adrian is finally coming back to seeming normal from the day’s events a detective stops him on the street.
In this issue we have a few answers, but even more questions. Watching Adrian become what he once was is scary and intriguing. The mystery of his past has me wanting to learn more. Who was the deity in his vision? Is he being fully possessed by a former version of himself? What havoc will that wreak in the present day? These questions have me excited to learn more. I rate this issue 8/10.
