Starring: Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch

Writer: Nic Pizzolatto

Director: Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 3-6)

Summary: The second season in a police anthology series where the mysteries unearth the personal and professional secrets of those in or around the case.

Reaction: Meh. Does that count as an emotion? The trailer for the newest season of True Detective is exactly one minute long and they made it feel like an hour. That, in and of itself, is impressive.

The four main characters were seen doing little else than staring. Rachel McAdams coolly stares. Taylor Kitsch broodingly stares. Vince Vaughn lifelessly stares. Colin Farrell menacingly stares. Taylor Kitsch broodingly stares, again. All of this, might I add, is being set to an eerie and haunting slow song.

I was not pumped up by this trailer. I am not waiting in anticipation for the next season based off the teaser I just got. The catch of this show is the mystery but that doesn’t mean there can’t be action. SO MUCH STARING.

To end on a positive note, however, there was one scene that I absolutely loved. Rachel McAdams walking down the street looking extremely badass in a bulletproof vest was too hot to handle.
