Analysis: I guess you could call this my bold call of the summer. I’m guessing many film bloggers are going to sprint to the finish line to declare this the “flop of the summer,” mostly because nobody can think rationally about it anymore. I’ve been championing this film since the very beginning. I love both trailers, and love the previous work of everyone involved with this project. This is my baby. Opening up in August was a smart move, and while it might be tough going out of the gate, good word of mouth will carry this movie to a bigger box office than you think. It won’t be gang busters, but a great start that will get people invested in this franchise.
What It Has Going For It: Low expectations.
