Team Bill vs Team Kimmy AEW Dynasty 2024 Predictions

For the first time in AEW history, they present a new AEW pay-per-view in Dynasty. With six title matches, a match of the year candidate, a possible return, and the crowning of new tag-team championships, let’s predict Dynasty as I beat Team Bill again!

Pre Show:

Winner Takes All for the AEW and ROH World Trios and Six-Man Championships: The Acclaimed (Billy Gunn, Max Caster, and Anthony Bowens) vs Bang Bang Scissor Gang (Jay White, Anthony and Colton Gunn):

Kimmy: Glad that the solution for the “we don’t have champions on ROH” is to take away a championship. The Bang Bang Scissor Gang should win this one since The Acclaim’s reign has been trash and Jay White simply deserves all of the gold.

Bill: The Trios Titles were one of the most in-demand things in AEW a few years ago, but they have just not been able to make them work. The Bang Bang Gang (not Bullet Club Gold anymore, you notice?) should take the W here. Also, let’s break up The Acclaimed. They are ice cold right now and Max Caster’s constant numbskullness is not doing any favors for the highly talented Bowens.

Winner: “And New” Bang Bang Scissor Gang (Jay White, Anthony and Colton Gunn)

Bill: “And New” Bang Bang Scissor Gang (Jay White, Anthony and Colton Gunn)

Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata vs Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty):

Kimmy: Poor Orange Cassidy, at least he was able to find one friend for this tag team match. After the brutal assault Cassidy went through on Wednesday I can not see him losing this match, especially with Shibata as his partner. They will get the win here and Cassidy will look to get revenge on his former best friend in the next coming weeks.

Winners: Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata

Bill: STP getting a nice undercard faction push is pretty rad, and I think this will be way more competitive than people think. Shibata is going to get his revenge on Moriarity here by choking Taigastyle out.

Winners: Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata

Trent Baretta vs Matt Sydal:

Kimmy: Yes, for those who have forgotten Sydal is still employed at AEW. I do not think this match will go long and it will just be used to give Baretta extra star power now that he is a heel in AEW for the first time.

Winner: Trent Baretta

Bill: Ol’ Trent really is over as a heel. You hear that reaction from Wednesday when he brained Sydal and Daniels as they tried to help OC? Yup, over. He’s gonna clobber Sydal.

Winner: Trent Baretta

Main Show:

Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson:

Kimmy: To Bill, this will be a match of the year, to me this is just another match on the card. Ospreay has to win here for a couple of reasons. One, since he is undefeated I can not see his first loss being on a show where Danielson is getting closer to retirement. Two, I believe he is getting closer to a championship shot at some point and I believe they would want him to look strong in the matches leading up to that.

Winner: Will Ospreay

Bill: Kimmy needs to get over Ospreay and Seth Rollins’ Twitter feud from a million years ago, and realize this one is going to RULE. Bryan Danielson has not missed at all during his AEW run, and neither has Will Ospreay. The Aerial Assassin is going to get the W here, because Danielson is allergic to winning (and I love him for it). The Don Callis Family will beat Dragon down post match, which will lead to Will breaking away from the faction.

Winner: Will Ospreay

Tournament Final Ladder Match for the Vacant AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) vs FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood):

Kimmy: Do the Young Bucks need this win? Yes. Is it worth Sting getting his final moment for us to have this tournament? Maybe. Since Okada already has a championship The Bucks have to win some titles too. I don’t think FTR needs the titles right now and there is a lot that AEW can do with The Bucks winning the titles.

Winners: “And New” The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson)

Bill: This is more about Jack Perry coming out and costing FTR the match, than The Bucks winning the titles. I think Jack’s going to have a lot of heat on him, and this will work perfectly with The Elite. Could I see The Motor City Machine Guns coming out to neutralize Jack and maybe a wild Okada? Yup! Either way, here’s your Hot Take Jones … Blood and Guts or Anarchy in the Arena this year is going to be The Elite (The Bucks, Okada, Jack Perry + 1) vs. FTR, Hangman Page and Motor City. Could it also be The BCC vs. The Don Callis Family? Sure. But let’s get nuts. Ultimately, The Bucks do win here.

“And New” The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson)

FTW Championship: Hook vs Chris Jericho:

Kimmy: Poor Hook. I think that Taz will get involved here because of what happened on Dynamite with Jericho pushing Taz. I do not think Jericho will get the win here and Hook should move so far away from this storyline.

Winner: “And Still” Hook

Bill: I hate this match on so many levels. Jericho feuds often go like this — Jericho loses to the young up and comer in the first match, wins the second match and then it’s kinda murky who wins the next one. Jericho, for all intents and purposes, should lose here. He should lose and then go away, for at least six months. He needs to desperately re-invent himself. TV time he gets every week needs to be re-allocated to others desperately — whether it’s in match or promo form. I honestly hate myself right now for doing this, but if this follows the Jericho Vortex playbook, my prediction is…

Winner: “And New” Chris Jericho

House Rules for the AEW TBS Championship: Julia Hart vs Willow Nightingale:

Kimmy: Poor Julia Hart. She has been on and off the injury list since winning the title and now you can make the argument that her title reign will be overshadowed by the Mercedes Mone title reign that will begin later this spring. Since Nightingale and Mone already have a history and they have been hinting at this feud since Mone’s arrival, Nightingale has to win this match. Also, I would not be surprised if after the match we see Kris Statlander finally turn heel to join the heel Best Friends.

Winner: “And New” Willow Nightingale

Bill: The big complaints about AEW is they need to grow new stars. Well, if you haven’t been paying attention, Willow Nightingale certainly has been positioned that way. I’m all aboard the Willow train, so let’s give her the belt. I think we will get a Stat heel turn (joining Mone?) not sure when though. However, this is Willow’s big night, let’s go.

Winner: “And New” Willow Nightingale

Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, and Eddie Kingston vs The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews):

Kimmy: Now why are the ROH World Heavyweight Champion and the TNT Champion stuck in a trios tag team match on this show? In the storyline world, I know why this is happening, but I feel that the TNT title should be defended on this show rather than stuck in a tag team match. I can not see the House of Black winning with just how dominant the other team is and that there are two champions on that team.

Winners: Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, and Eddie Kingston

Bill: House of Black is totally winning this. If you they want to build to Adam Copeland vs. Malakai Black, then you need a reason. Can easily see Cope taking the pin here after some mist from Malakai and Brody getting the pin back. This is going to lead to a longer, dark and more cinematic angle between Edge and Malakai, which is fine.

Winners: The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews)

AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa:

Kimmy: I hope this is a five-minute squash match and Britt Baker comes back here and no, I am not sorry.

Winner: “And Still”: “Timeless” Toni Storm

Bill: Sorry, Kimmy. This will not be a squash. I do hope Ol’ Brittski returns, but who knows when that’ll happen. Timeless is great and I do think she has more of a run in her with a Mina Shirakawa match on tap for Forbidden Door. Not sure who she has at Double or Nothing — Statlander would be great.

Winner: “And Still”: “Timeless” Toni Storm

AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada vs Pac:

Kimmy: This match, however, is going to be fantastic and has the potential to steal the whole show (sorry Bryan). I’m excited that Pac is finally being showcased on an AEW pay-per-view after a long time. I do not think that Pac is going to get the win here especially since Okada just won the title a couple of weeks ago, but this is a great first title defense for Okada.

Winner: “And Still” Kazuchika Okada

Bill: We’re sleeping on how good this is going to be. Okada and Pac are going to beat the crap out of each and I am here for it. However, Okada is still gonna pick this one up, as I think the money feud for him is The Rainmaker vs. The Hangman.

Winner: “And Still” Kazuchika Okada

AEW International Championship: Roderick Strong vs Kyle O’Riley:

Kimmy: This is another great match on the card! Unfortunately, O’Riley will not be getting the win here on the show. One of the problems with AEW having so many shows back-to-back now is that a lot of wrestlers just started their title reign. If this match were to happen at Double or Nothing, or even All In I would have picked Kyle to win. Since Strong only won the title a month ago it does not make sense for him to lose here.

Winner: “And Still” Roderick Strong

Bill: This feels too soon. So that means Roddy gets the win today, but the payoff to this feud will come months down the road with Kyle winning at All In or WrestleDream.

Winner: “And Still” Roderick Strong

AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe vs Swerve Strickland:

Kimmy:  History will be made in this match as Swerve will become the first African American in AEW to win the World Heavyweight Championship. I fear that if they don’t put the title on him now it will be too late and the popularity that Swerve has will fizzle out. Joe has done a great job as champion, but the new flavor of ice cream is here and his name is Swerve Strickland.

Winner: “And New” Swerve Strickland

Bill: It will truly be Swerve’s house after Dynasty. I think they’ve done a good of sustaining this feud, but Kimmy’s right — delay this any further and the momentum with Swerve will be GONE.

“And New” Swerve Strickland

The current record in Bill vs Kimmy is 3-2-3.

AEW Dynasty is streaming live on Sunday, April 21st at 8:00 PM EST on Bleacher Report and Triller TV
