Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent.
An Earth destruction story due to unknown creatures? Been there, done that. In the same vein as Independence Day (a guilty pleasure for yours truly) or the recently released Skyline, Battle: Los Angeles sets the stage of mass hysteria in the city of angels, while the trailer shows footage from other countries on the verge of being wiped out. I will say this though; the trailer features some heavy duty special effects work, and I’ve found no fault in the work of Aaron Eckhart. However, think I’ll just wait to enjoy this in the comfort of my own home.

Green Lantern
Release Date: June 17
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard
Director: Martin Campbell

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Undecided.
Really on the fence here with this one. On the one hand, I have little knowledge/ interest for DC characters except for Batman, but on the other hand, I am sucker for comic book movies. Here’s the kicker though; I have nothing against Reynolds (same goes for a good chunk of the female population, but that’s for a different reason), but I can’t get it in my head that he’s this character. Now, maybe I’m wrong, I’ve never read Green Lantern, so I have 0% knowledge as to what the character of Hal Jordan (Green Lantern’s alter ego) is like. I hope I am incorrect with Reynolds casting on that note. As for now, me plopping my hard earned money to view this film in brightest day or blackest night is still up in the air.

  1. umm, Ryan Reynolds is awesome. He’s our generation’s Clooney…the common denominator guy, he is every girl’s “type”. Plus he’s funny, so BONUS.
