Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. The last piece of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy is set to arrive next Friday, and you can better believe I will be there with bells on. Curious to see how it all pans out, The Dark Knight Rises has a lot riding on it, especially since it’s predecessor The Dark Knight is considered one of the best superhero movies of all time, if not the very best. There is a lot of people in this movie, but I have no doubt that Nolan can balance each and every one of them with ease and make their stories integral to the final showdown. And what of the rumors? Is Batman going to buy the farm? Time will only tell. It’s been a fantastic summer for superheroes, and the caped crusader is most certainly going to bring his A game for the die hard lovers of the franchise (which is like, almost everybody? In the world?). Bring it on July 20th. I simply cannot wait. –LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. I absolutely will be seeing this as soon as it opens. Christopher Nolan has done a masterful job creating a Batman that is not only thrilling, exciting and the stuff of pure summer blockbuster legend but also dark, twisted, complex and emotional stories that are deeply rooted in the human side of Batman. Watching this latest trailer, and in fact every trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has sent chills up my spine. It captures everything I just mentioned in the last sentence — chills, thrills and spills as well as a dark, twisted fantasy of emotion, sacrifice and chaos. This trailer’s use of little-to-no music, is perfect, it heightens everything. With every word I type I just become more excited about the approaching release of The Dark Knight Rises. To quote Jets linebacker Bart Scott…CAN’T WAIT! –BB
