whoa …
We’re still in shock as we type this …
Guns N’ Roses are coming to the third Governors Ball Music Festival.
Announced on Rolling Stone’s website today, the legendary and controversial rock ‘n’ roll outfit will be performing at its first major U.S. gig since their Vegas residency in the fall.
This makes the lineup for Gov Ball 2K13 — held at Randall’s Island in New York from June 7-9 — pretty insane. Other performers include Kanye West, Kings Of Leon, Nas, The Avett Brothers, Grizzly Bear, Kendrick Lamar, the Lumineers, Animal Collective, Feist, Gary Clark Jr., The Dirty Projectors, and Japandroids.
Can we see a Guns and Kanye jam session? That’s be off the chain … and most likely improbable, but still, sick.
Axl Rose was quoted in a press release saying: “We’re stoked to be performing at the Governors Ball! We’re all really excited in GNR to be part of this festival, and with such talented and diverse acts in what looks to be a great weekend!!”
Of course, this is a different version of GNR than the one that stormed the charts in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Axl is the only original member still in the band.
Hmm…maybe Axl will scratch his ass for four hours before finally going on stage, like he does at every other gig?
