On Saturday, March 2nd, the Lakehouse Music Academy will open its doors to the Jersey Shore.
This is great for those living in the region who are looking to learn the art of music, but the true significance of this open house event is that it marks the opening of one of Asbury Park’s most important cultural and artistic centers in recent memory.
The Lakehouse, located at 619 Lake Avenue, overlooking the Wesley Lake in downtown Asbury Park will become the hub for the creative minded in the legendary city-by-the-sea. The building will house: Russo Music (the city’s go-to music shop), Lakehouse Recording Studios (a massive, state-of-the-art new recording studio owned by touring musician Jon Leidersdorff), Lakehouse Rehearsal, CoWerks (a creative office space and business development company), Bands on a Budget (a premiere music merch shop), Holtz Video and Photography and Mumford’s Cafe.
In short, this is going to a be a cultural hub, a building where musicians and artists and creatives can conduct business, where budding musicians can learn their craft, where bands can come together to record and practice and where they can get all the gear and merch they need.
