Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Undecided. I don’t know. On the one hand, this movie features one of my favorite comic book characters, portrayed the man who was born to play him (and has no problem doing several times over), Hugh Jackman. Jackman has the ability to elevate material, even if it’s crap. Which leads me to the other hand; X-Men Origins: Wolverine was such a horrible movie, completely destroying the character’s beginning with stupid dialogue, gratuitous mutant cameos, and horrible special effects, not to mention the fact that it was so far from the comic book origin tale of Wolverine that it enraged me. With that said, The Wolverine can either completely make up for that, or follow in its footsteps. The only thing I wanna see is a Logan (heh) movie done right, and I don’t want to fully miss out on this cause I love the character so much. I guess I’ll wait to see what word of mouth is upon release. –LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. The trailer for The Wolverine has done nothing to inspire me to drop a 10 spot down to see this opening weekend. It reminds me a lot of the last Wolvie movie — Hugh Jackman looks awesome but everything else looks ‘meh’ at best. Wolverine loses his ability to heal, his immortality? I can pretty much predict how this movie is going to play out and for a summer blockbuster, that’s not very inspiring. Ultimately this’ll make a solid rental on a slow night, but for now, I’ll pass on The Wolverine in cinemas. –BB
