Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. Lone Survivor looks like it’s trying to be the next Zero Dark Thirty, although more with an action movie feel, less documentary style. The cast is pretty solid, with Mark Wahlberg being Marky Mark as he usually is. Underrated Ben Foster also makes an appearance, and that actor can prove his worth alongside his bigger co-stars any day of the week (see 3:10 to Yuma as an example). The movie itself looks interesting enough to be solid rental fare, so I’ll definitely check it out when it hits the home video market. –LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. Ladies and gentlemen, you’re annual Mark Wahlberg January action flick. Like Broken City and Contraband before it — Wahlberg loves to leave bodies in the cold wintry cinematic months. Now, this movie is “based on true acts of courage” so I don’t think it’ll be as run-and-gun as his previous winter efforts, but still this isn’t exactly getting me off the couch and running out to the movies. I think this could be a solid rent though. –BB
