Trailer Tuesday: Jack Ryan, Shadow Recruit

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No thanks. My response to viewing this may surprise you, but you know what, if this film’s promotion hadn’t been crammed down my throat so much every time I watched TV or viewed something online that had commercials (DAMN YOU INTERNET CBS!), the fate might have been different. And it’s a shame too, as the cast featured with in is solid, and star/director Kenneth Branagh is more than trust worthy. However, that guy starred in Wild Wild West, so maybe not that trust worthy. I’m sorry Jack Ryan, but you wore out your welcome in commercials, so I’m gonna pass. Good luck and no hard feelings. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent, but possibly theater. This has all the markings of being the 2014 version of Taken — a loud, sometimes silly, but ultimately entertaining popcorn flick. Having seen an extended preview before The Wolf of Wall Street, I’ve really warmed up to a movie that looked like just another Bourne clone. The cast is solid and if Kevin Costner can resist the urge to be boring Kevin Costner, then we’ve got something special. I think this is going to be very solid. –BB
