Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Marvel’s biggest risk may be the surprise of the summer. August is normally a dumping ground for weaker blockbusters, but GotG may edge towards sleeper category. –LJF
Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Vaguely familiar with the comic book, so on the surface, seems like an odd choice for this to hit the big screen over say, Doctor Stranger or a reboot of Daredevil. But, Marvel hasn’t let me down in 10 years, outside of X-Men 3, so I’m willing to give it a shot. –BB

Rate the Trailer (1-5): Five out of five. I have no restraint in saying I love everything that has been edited and put out to tease this film. The soundtrack choices, the dialogue, and the minimal use of new footage. We have seen everything we need to regarding Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, Gamora, and Drax, and it is best left to the final screening to see how these dudes all work together and save the Galaxy. I can’t wait. –LJF
Rate the Trailer (1-5): Five out of five. The GotG trailers have consistently impressed me. There’s never been too much given away, which is super-important since we’ve been seeing trailers since before Memorial Day Weekend. I love the fact every trailer has its own feel, its own stories and most importantly, its own ’70s chestnut of a song. “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways shouldn’t make sense, but by God it certainly does here. These trailers have got me amped for the first time in a long time to hit my local cineplex. –BB
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. My tickets are already ordered, my Star-Lord shirt is ready, and my butt will be in the seat opening weekend. Guardians of the Galaxy is nabbing rave reviews, some calling it “Marvel’s best movie ever.” This critique for a bunch of (relatively) unknown comic book characters? This may be my favorite movie of this season. I cannot wait any longer. –LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. Readers, to be 100% honest with you, I have been hoping for summer to fly by because I felt the August 1 release date for this movie seemed so far in the future. Now, it’s finally here. I cannot wait. It’s seemed like forever since I’ve been this excited for a movie (possibly for The World’s End – which debuted in August of last year) and I have a good feeling that this will not disappoint. –BB
