Pop-Break Live: Pop-Break’s Five-Year Anniversary Party

Amy Malkoff & The Moonshines

I’ve heard most of the bands that perform in Asbury Park, but never The Moonshines. All I have to say is … HOLY SHIT. This band absolutely blew my mind. When they told me they were a band that sounded like Black Sabbath and Stevie Nicks, I was like, “Oh sure — every bands says stuff like that.” But, nope, these guys nailed that description. The band has this great fuzzy, heavy Sabbathian musicality mixed with these heavenly vocals. This is a group you gotta experience live — find them, go see them, and you’ll fall in love with them. This is also the first show I’ve ever run or co-run where a band was asked for an encore — and wasn’t the headliner.

Setlist:

Numb Nation
No Mans Lands
Wake
Radiation
Place Like This
Nothing Left
Zephyrus
Two
Encore: Faeries Wear Boots (Black Sabbath cover)
