Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Dia de los muertos finally gets its cinematic due in animated form. –LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Thankfully, this is not the animated version of The Tree of Life.

Rate the trailer (1-5): Three out of five. There’s nothing that really stands out as comedic or supremely funny from The Book of Life trailer. I look for that a lot in an animated film I guess, as I feel like there has to be good humor for adults. However, the animation…wow. This movie looks incredible, and the story looks interesting enough to warrant the rating I’m giving it. Really, the visuals in this movie just take my breath away. –LJF

Rate the trailer (1-5): Three out of five. This looks surprisingly fun. I mean a cartoon based on Day of the Dead with the vocal talents of Channing Tatum? Sounds awful on paper. But in this trailer, it looks fun. –BB

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent (but maybe theater). Between weddings, NY Comic-Con, Halloween events, Super Smash Bros 3DS, Gone Girl, and amongst other things, this one won’t get a theater viewing unless some sort of extra cash comes my way. I think it would be phenomenal to watch in 3D too, but once again, that’s more more money I don’t have. Still, I won’t pass up seeing this based on the gorgeous look it offers. Rental for sure. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. This is one of those films you rent for the kids and when the little one comes around I’ll let her giggle at the pretty colors and crazy characters. –BB
