Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Steve Carell tones down the comedy and turns up the creepy. Meanwhile, Channing Tatum aims to be considered a serious actor. –LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Hello, Oscar. –BB

Rate the Trailer (1-5): Four out of five. Honestly, this trailer is really intriguing and nothing major is spelled out. And holy crap, can Steve Carell be any more disturbing looking or sounding as the mysterious coach? His role may be worth the price of admission alone. –LJF

Rate the Trailer (1-5): Three out of five. The trailer is intriguing and subtle, but I need a little bit more. Right now, we’re giving this movie a trailer that’s reminiscent of a sport film, but if you know the story behind the film, you know there’s a much darker side. It’s subtly hinted at here, but I think subsequent trailers will ratchet this up. –BB

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent (but maybe theater). Oscar buzz is surrounding Foxcatcher and for that reason, I may want to venture out to see it in the theater. With that being said, hopefully time and finances will allow. If not, this is a definite red box pick up when it hits the home video market. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. This is the type of film that’s potential Oscar buzz will drive people to the theater. I’m going to wait on that buzz to make my decision on whether I head out to see it or not. Regardless, I’ll pick this one up on DVD when it drops early next year. –BB
