Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I’ve never been a huge Jurassic Park fan, but for some reason this sequel has me intrigued. I think the fourteen-year layoff will be good for this franchise. I like the cast involved, and I’m not asking for much. As long as it’s better than Jurassic Park III, and the shit show that was The Lost World, I’ll be happy. I think that’s a pretty safe bet. –DC
Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies of all time. Although the sequels have been less than stellar, this one still may have one going for it. Let’s hope. -LJF
Rate the Trailer (1-5): Three and a half out of Five. This was fine and got me interested, but I need to see a hell of a lot more in the next trailer. You can tell they desperately want to recapture the first film, but it’s almost a little too desperate. Almost every image mimics a scene from the original film. The acting was surprisingly bad in this trailer as well. That first scene is horrible, and Chris Pratt looked surprisingly wooden, but I’m sure he’ll be fine. It’s just a trailer. I did like the way they cut the score though. It has the whimsy-ness of the original, but also a foreboding tone. I like it! The idea of dinosaurs getting unleashed onto a theme park full of people is definitely exciting. The whole gene splicing thing though…yeah, that’s a wait and see for me. -DC
Rate the Trailer (1-5): Two and a half out of five. There’s a lot bugging me about this trailer. Chris Pratt’s line delivery is weird and stiff, not showing much emphasis. Everything looks so clean, both park wise and CGI wise. Is this supposed to be the future? Why are we focused on the kids? Gotta agree with Dan, I need to see another trailer. The dinosaurs are the only thing saving this at the current moment.-LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. Even though this trailer didn’t blow me away, it did enough to get me in the theater. I hope the next one really kicks my ass though. -DC
