Another show that handled a cast departure – this time two (Rashida Jones’ Ann and Rob Lowe’s Chris) – did so with minimal loss of flow to the series’ rhythm. It felt very natural, as did Leslie’s progression into a well-deserved career move. The (SPOILER ALERT) three-year time jump was the perfect way to send off the show if in some horrible alternate universe that was the series finale, but it will be nice to see a 13-episode bittersweet final string of episodes, even if NBC is basically burning them off back-to-back Tuesday nights come next month.
