3. Game of Thrones
A lot about this fourth season of Game of Thrones really worked, and it’s proof that the writers know how to properly adapt George R.R. Martin’s epic series. This is successfully done despite the show’s growing cast and setting. New character Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) was perfectly introduced and became a fast fan favorite. Principal stars like Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) received some of their best material to date. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) got some much needed improvements to her story as well. Moments like Tyrion condemning King’s Landing, Oberyn vs. The Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson), and the Wall battle will always be remembered. Unfortunately, so will the terrible rape between Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei (Lena Headey). That glaring oversight aside, Season 4 was outstanding, and it’s clear that this show will only get better and better.
