4. (tie) Circa Survive – Decensus
Circa Survive’s music has slowed down quite a bit since the release of their first album Juturna. Perhaps it is the fact that the band members have gotten older and had children or maybe it is just a symbol of maturity. Either way, the differences between their older albums, which I consider to be perfection, and their newer albums are quite significant. This isn’t to say that the new music isn’t amazing in its own way. Descensus holds strong to the feeling of Circa with poetic lyrics and enjoyable melodies, my favorite songs being “Always Begin” and “Descensus,” and leaves you well satiated in your fix for a little Anthony Green.
