April is an unusual time for television — and not in a bad way at all. It’s one of those times on the television calendar when networks pull their final ace from up their sleeve, slam it down on the table, and walk away with all the chips on the table. Why April? Well, May is the month of finales for television, and then we trudge through the wasteland of TV known as the summer. (Although we think the summer has a lot of promising shows this year.)
This month five of our writers plucked shows from reality TV, Netflix, FX, AMC and a very underrated series from A&E to be featured in our monthly Pop 5 — a column where we talk about the shows we were obsessed with in the past 30 days.
