Beach House Announce New Album, Tour

Even though the shore filled weekends and sky high temperatures are only beginning, Beach House fans will be glad to know a solution already exists to cure their “summer time sadness” towards the end of the season.

Depression Cherry set to be released on August 28th, was both recorded and produced by the dream pop duo themselves, Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, as well as producer Chris Coady.

According to a press release (originally posted on Pitchfork), the band’s fifth full length album will showcase a more natural sound molded around a simple melody and limited instruments. Depression Cherry strays away from the louder tone that evolved through the success of their past albums, Teen Dream and Bloom.

As for the album title itself, the duo described it as, “a color, a place, a feeling, an energy… that describes the place you arrive as you move through the endlessly varied trips of existence…”

And with a sleeve for both the LP and CD uniquely made of red velvet, feeling is automatically evoked from the moment one picks up the record. A limited edition clear vinyl of Depression Cherry will also be available once the album is released.

Embarking on a world tour this summer, Beach House will kick off the festivities in August starting in the United States.
