Los Stellarians, “The Mas Chingon”

Written By Marley Ghizzone

SA Martinez is a force that won’t be stopped. This summer, Martinez and fellow 311 bandmates are releasing their 25th Anniversary box set and have a 26 date tour lined up. A few months ago Martinez dropped the debut album for one side project, Los Stellarians, and looks to release the second album for another side project, Ghostwolf, before the year is out. But wait there’s more!

Los Stellarians, comprised of SA Martinez and Ghostwolf bandmate Ryan Siegel, has just released their sophomore album, mere months after their first album dropped. “The Mas Chingon” is a natural progression of what came before. Where their first album, “Cholo Soul,” was an homage to lesser known 70’s soul, “The Mas Chingon” draws inspiration from modern soul beginning in the 80’s.

The eight-song album is rooted in deep feeling and personal connection. The album cover was commissioned from Eloy Torrez and incorporates an older photo of Martinez’s father. “The Mas Chingon looks to be full of energy and soulful good times.

The Mas Chingon by Los Stellarians is available on iTunes.
