Jennifer Amato – I Can Do That
When I watch I Can Do That, I think to myself, I certainly CANNOT do that.
Celebrities Cheryl Burke, Joe Jonas, Nicole Scherzinger, Ciara, Jeff Dye and Alan Ritchson compete with and against each other in a variety of situations that seem outrageous to the average person.
Although it wasn’t a death-defying stunt, such as skating around in circles on a platform or dancing in the air during an aerial stunt, my favorite episode had Jonas and Scherzinger re-enact a scene from the off-Broadway show Avenue Q, which required that they not only handle the puppets but sing, dance and add in off-color comedy. I am a huge fan of the musical, so watching two unassuming entertainers perform with such ease and expertise really impressed me.
I must admit, I am not a fan of any of the personalities individually, but there is something about the show that “works.” Be it their banter, their chemistry, or possibly the stunts alone, I watch each episode wanting to know more about each person. I also love the variety of activities, which include magic with Penn & Teller, movement with Jabbawockeez, or music with Snoop Dogg.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the premise of the show, but after watching part of the season it has become one of my favorite summer shows. It is definitely my top pick for June.
