According to TVLine Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader will be replacing Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) as the head of the Nine Nine precinct. Brooklyn Nine Nine’s season two finale saw Captain Holt (Braugher) being promoted to an NYPD public relations desk job by his enemy Madeline Wunch (Kyra Sedgwick.)
Hader is currently guest starring on only the first episode of the Fox comedy but co-showrunner Mike Shur reveals that the new captain is “is far from the final surprise.” The premiere episode for Brooklyn Nine Nine’s third season will be an exciting one. Shur explains a little more about the first episode saying, “it takes a lot of fun story twists and turns, in very rapid succession, once the new captain is announced. It’s going to be a really funny and good episode.”
