Two of Hollywood’s most popular actresses are teaming up. Jennifer Lawrence, one of the most successful movie stars working today, revealed today that she’ll soon be cracking jokes with comedian Amy Schumer, who is fresh off her summer breakout hit Trainwreck. The two will co-write and star in a currently untitled film.
Lawrence let the news of their collaboration slip as she was promoting the final installment of The Hunger Games. The two, who recently became friends and went on a much publicized jet skiing trip earlier this month, have been working on a screenplay together that will find them playing sisters.
“We play sisters,” said Lawrence during the interview. “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.” While there aren’t any plot details known at the moment, Lawrence did confirm that the two were also writing the film with Kim, Schumer’s real life sister who also worked on Trainwreck.
No release date has been confirmed at the moment but, based on both actors’ busy schedules, we might be waiting a while. Schumer has her show, Inside Any Schumer, which scored her an Emmy nomination this year. Lawrence, meanwhile, has The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1, X-Men: Apocalypse, the David O. Russell directed Joy and the sci-fi romance Passengers with Chris Pratt coming soon, not to mention rumored projects with Richard Linklater and Steven Spielberg. Regardless, comedy fans now have an interesting project to look forward to.
