Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I watched the original My Big Fat Greek Wedding one night since my girlfriend loves it. It had funny moments, but that was mostly due to the extended family of the main character. Nothing else really made it worthwhile. Overall, not a memorable flick. Why is it getting a sequel? So unnecessary. –LJF
Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Despite being one of the most successful independent films of all time, I’ve never seen the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding. 14 years after its box office impact and pop-culture relevance, I really do have to wonder “why now?” I mean surely the answer is money, but can Nia Vardalos really expect the same sleeper hit results that made the first film so famous? – JTM
Rate the Trailer: 1 out of 5. Nothing in the trailer really made an impact. The movie seems so full of film cliches about family and seeing things through and what not. I didn’t love the first movie enough to care about this clan, so why should even have any interest in this sequel? Unimpressed by everything here. -LJF
Rate the Trailer: 2 out of 5. I don’t think a single joke in the trailer landed for me. If this was any indication of what the first film was like then I really don’t feel like I’ve missed out on anything. The humor is way too broad for my tastes, and the moments meant to be touching come off as overly saccharine and pandering. Whatever audience this is meant for, I am not a part of it. – JTM
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? I’d like to say No Thanks but I know somewhere down the line I’m gonna have to watch this so I guess a rental is possible. –LJF
Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks? No Thanks. My interest after the trailer is the same as it was beforehand: non-existent. Even in terms of a good date movie I feel like there will be better options when this opens…I mean there just has to be, right? – JTM
