When Agents Mulder and Scully are stranded in an Arctic research station with scientists, they encounter a mysterious alien wormlike creature that infects whoever comes into contact with it, causing them to turn into homicidal maniacs.
Why it’s worth watching: During the series first season, the show really didn’t really know what it was made of yet. This was one of the first episodes that really showed fans that the show had great potential, and paved the way for Mulder and Scully’s alliance and relationship. This episode really echoes on John Carpenter’s The Thing, where you get a great sense of claustrophobia and unease.
