For the first time ever, widely known alternative rock bands, Modest Mouse and Brand New, will be co-headlining a tour this summer. The 24-show jaunt starts on June 28, and since there will be no opening act, both bands will perform full headlining sets.
The bands will take turns closing out the shows, as highlighted on the tour schedule poster, found here on the Modest Mouse website.
Both bands have put out music within the past year. Modest Mouse released the album Strangers to Ourselves on March 13, while Brand New released the single “Mene” on April 14, and Leaked Demos 2006 on Jan. 13 of this year. Brand New has also been debuting new songs during their recent performances.
Modest Mouse and Brand New head off on separate tours before coming together on June 28 for the tour kickoff show at The Saltair in Magna, Utah.
The tour travels around the U.S. to popular venues such as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on June 29, the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre in Miami on July 8 and the Moda Center in Portland Oregon on July 31 for the final show.
For those of you closer to New Jersey, plan on seeing them at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 14, or at the Mann Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia on July 16.
General tickets will be on sale on Friday Jan. 29. However, certain venues are offering presale tickets, which you can purchase here.
