2. (tie) The Avengers (2012) (Ryan DeMarco)
During the early years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans had learned that at the end of what was called Phase I, we would experience all of the Marvel Heroes that previously had a standalone film share the big screen together. Was it ambitious? Yup. Impossible to pull off? Maybe. Were they successful? Yes, holy god, yes.
What we received was a culmination of a fans dream come true. Not only was Joss Whedon able to bring Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye together, but they made us believe in miracles. With an amazing story that produced wicked sharp dialogue and wit, humor, and dramatic beats that felt organic and didn’t cheat the fans one bit. With arguably one of the best finale showdowns in cinematic history, The Avengers will always remain as an amazing experience.
Favorite Line: “We have a Hulk” -Tony Stark
Favorite Scene: During the finale, as our heroes battle the Chitari race invading Manhattan, the Hulk squares off with Loki. As Loki hurls insults at the green goliath, he is picked up and smashed all over the room until getting thrown into the floor.
