Fans of the Foo Fighters no longer have to worry about the band breaking up!
The Foo Fighters just put out an “Official Band Announcement” in the form of a video. The pseudo documentary disproves rumors about the band breaking up. It features Dave Grohl and producer Butch Vig discussing Grohl going solo. They agree that he should explore the music of the new generation: electronica.
While Grohl is experimenting with a keyboard and various improbable singing styles, the rest of the band vows to “make Foo Fighters great again,” and starts considering replacements for Grohl. This involves discussing the pros and cons of the more plausible replacements such as Sammy Hagar, Chris Cornell and Billy Corgan, to the far-fetched options of Phil Collins, Nick Lachey and even Diplo.
In the middle of this discussion, Nick Lachey runs in, ready to join them for a “test-run” of “Everlong.” While Lachey is over-emphasizing the lyrics in an acoustic version of this classic Foo Fighters song, the screen fades to black and we finally see the announcement: “For the millionth time, we’re not breaking up. And nobody’s going fucking solo!”
