Looks like the minions have a new master to serve…
It has been reported on Collider.com that NBCUniversal has bought DreamWorks Animation for a large sum of $4 Billion Dollars.
In the Collider article, NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke had a few words to say about the now joined studios.
“DreamWorks will help us grow our film, television, theme parks and consumer products businesses for years to come. We have enjoyed extraordinary success over the last six years in animation with the emergence of Illumination Entertainment and its brilliant team at Illumination Mac Guff studio. The prospects for our future together are tremendous.”
This move will prove to be stiff competition for other family friendly competitors such as Walt Disney Animation and Pixar.
DreamWorks will now join the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. This group includes Universal Pictures, Fandango, and NBCUniversal Brand Development.
