1. “Gozer the Gozerian. Good evening. As a duly designated representative of the city, county, and state of New York, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your place of origin or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension.” (Ray Stantz)
In a way, this harkens back to my #10 choice. Maybe it’s not the funniest or most memorable line, but for me, it perfectly encapsulates what Ghostbusters is. This god of destruction has just entered our realm. All hell is breaking loose. But when Ray Stantz speaks those words, it reminds us once again we are watching a screwball comedy centered around normal, everyday people. Despite the situation, this is simply Ray Stantz being Ray Stantz. And as I’ve said a hundred times throughout this countdown, only Dan Aykroyd could have delivered that line.

“Ok, so…she’s a dog.”
“where do these stairs go?”
“They go up”
Those are pretty good. Winston’s line “This job is definitely not worth eleven-five a year” was a near miss.
