In a possible attempt to have their own monster cinematic universe, the poster for Kong: Skull Island has been revealed by Warner Brothers. In order to show how big Kong is, the poster shows the iconic character engulfed in fog while a human being looks out into the distance on top of the skull of another giant, deceased ape.
By March 2017, audiences will be able to see Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly discover a one-hundred-foot-tall King Kong as they make the trek to the infamous Skull Island in the 1970’s. The film will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer), and will also star Samuel L. Jackson, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, and Toby Kebbell.
Many speculate that this film will allude to the 2014 Godzilla film directed by Gareth Edwards so that the studio can have the two iconic characters in the same film by 2020. Whether that’s true or not, Kong: Skull Island is looking to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2017.
