As the world got set to watch Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps compete against each other for possibly the last time, we were treated to the latest trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
This trailer expands on the plot of the film — highlighting the team of heroes, as well as the many battles they’ll be facing in their quest. The score, which plays on the classic Imperial March is chilling. Oh, and there’s an amazing moment at the end. We’re not going to spoil this for you. Enjoy!!
Rogue One is set in a post-Clone Wars/pre-A New Hope era in the Star Wars universe. The film stars Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (Theory of Everything) as Jyn Erso the anti-hero and put-upon leader of a unit charged with stealing plans for the empire’s latest weapon — The Death Star. Other cast members shown include: Diego Luna (Y tu mama tambien, Milk), Oscar winner Forrest Whitaker (Last King of Scotland), Donnie Yen (Iron Monkey), and Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom, The Dark Knight Rises), Madds Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), and Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler).
The film is directed by Gareth Edwards who directed the cult sci-fi film Monsters, and the most recent Godzilla film.
