Gin Blossoms Bring Beloved Hits & Covers of Van Morrison & Johnny Cash to NJ

Pop Break Live: The Gin Blossoms at The Wellmont Theatre – Montclair, NJ

The Gin Blossoms may be from Arizona, but they fit in perfectly in New Jersey don’t they? The band, which formed in Temple, AZ in 1987, has become a staple in the Garden State music scene, performing at least once a year to fans who cannot get enough of their beloved catalog.

In late February, the band returned to The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey for a night of their beloved hits, and two awesome covers. The set opened with their seminal hit “Follow You Down” and featured favorites like “Found Out About You,” “Hey Jealously,” and “Allison Road.”

The band closed out the show with a cover of Van Morrison’s “Tupelo Honey,” and a rousing cover of the Johnny Cash classic, “Folsom Prison Blues.”

Pop-Break’s Al Mannarino relived the ’90s and captured one of his favorite bands in action.
