Jude Law is bringing sexy back…to Hogwarts?
Jude Law has officially been cast as Albus Dumbledore, the beloved wizard who mentors Harry Potter and one of the most iconic names in the series history.
Director of the series, David Yates, spoke to Variety about the casting, saying, “Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long admired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him. I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life.”
The film will be the second in a five part series, giving us a peek into the life of Dumbledore before he became the headmaster of Hogwarts, and what happens with the series protagonist Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) as the wizarding world enters darker times.
The film is set to begin production this summer and will be released on November 16, 2018.
