The Wait Is Over: Josh Brolin Lands Second Marvel Role as Cable in Deadpool 2
THR confirmed Josh Brolin will be taking the long anticipated role in the sequel to Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool. The role went through a long list of several names, rumored or otherwise, from Nathan Fillion to David Harbour of Stranger Things. Even Russell Crowe, who is currently Jor-El in DC cinematic universe contended for the role.
But it looks Brolin will be adding a second Marvel character under his belt, already playing Thanos in the Marvel cinematic universe. Reynold will be reprising his role as the chimichanga loving mercenary and rising Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has already been cast as fellow super-powered merc Domino. Others signed on (according to IMDB) include: Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Stefan Kapcic as the voice of Colossus.
David Leitch is directing the sequel to Fox’s surprise blockbuster, with the Twentieth Century Fox movie heading toward a June production start in Vancouver. Sources say Brolin is in a deal for four movies.
