Michael Franti & Spearhead Takes Over Asbury Park with Reggae, Positive Vibes & Yoga

Pop Break Live: Michael Franti and Spearhead at The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey

It was a full blown takeover of Asbury Park.

Reggae artist Michael Franti took the city that Bruce that built by storm with a triple threat of events on Thursday June 15.

During the afternoon Franti held a very special yoga session at there outdoor patio of Porta, a local pizza restaurant, bar, and nightclub across from the Stone Pony.

During the evening he took the Stone Pony Summer Stage for a crazy positive, and interactive show of reggae, soul, an hip hop. Front was documented in the crowd multiple times during his set dancing with the crowd. He also brought a number of children onstage to join in on the fun.

And if that wasn’t enough…Franti took the show to the boardwalk. After his set at The Stone Pony Summer Stage finished he went across the street to the Langosta Lounge, a world cuisine restaurant and bar known for its eclectic musical tastes, and celebrity surprise (last year John Popper from Blues Traveler jumped on stage).
