The BreakCast: An Interview with Australian Sketch Comedy Trio, Aunty Donna

This week on The Breakcast, Managing Editor Matthew Nando Kelly talks to Broden Kelly, Mark Bonanno, and Zachary Ruane also known as the Australian sketch comedy group Aunty Donna. Coming off of their first North American tour, the boys talk about their love for American food, what it takes to be a “Larry”, and Zach’s DJ influences.

Aunty Donna will be back in NYC for five shows from July 18-22 at Theatre 80. Click here to purchase tickets.

With a unique brand of surreal, fast-paced, alternative sketch, Aunty Donna exploded onto the Melbourne comedy scene in 2012 and have produced a new live show each year since. The Donnas also produce award-winning comedic videos through their YouTube channel reaching over 155,000 subscribers with over 23 million views. Creating everything themselves, Aunty Donna are actor/writers Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane; writer/director Sam Lingham; film director/editor Max Miller; and sound designer/composer Tom Armstrong.

Together they bring Aunty Donna’s wildly entertaining style of comedy to life. In 2016, Aunty Donna released the award-winning original web series, 1999 and continued to sell out shows around the world including London’s prestigious Soho Theatre and their third year at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. They recently rolled out the new web series, Ripper Aussie Summer on YouTube.
