Pop Break Live: Green Day at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ
Last year, Green Day made their glorious return with their amazing comeback album, Revolution Radio. In honor of the new album, the Rock + Roll Hall of Famers recently kicked off a massive summer tour. On Thursday night August 30, ‘The Revolution Radio Tour’ stopped by the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ for a night filled with great music, explosions, fire, and positive vibes.
Back in July, Green Day played a huge show in Hyde Park where the 65,000+ attendees joined together to sing “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Although it was not as many people as the viral Hyde Park show, the entire amphitheater started singing along to the classic Queen track 10 minutes before the band took the stage. Up next was “Blitzkrieg Bop,” where the famous drunk pink Green Day bunny ran around on stage hyping the crowd up while wearing a “Who The Fuck Is TrĂ© Cool” t-shirt. The bunny was pulled off the stage before the theme for The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly came on and Green Day took the stage.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and TrĂ© Cool took the stage and opened the show with “Know Your Enemy” off 21st Century Breakdown. Towards the end of the song, Armstrong looked at the crowd to find someone to bring on stage and sing the rest of the song with him. He found a young kid in the crowd who joined him on stage and sung the chorus of the song before stage-diving into the crowd. It wouldn’t be the last time someone was plucked from the crowd to get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform with Green Day.
The band played songs from their new album including the title track, “Revolution Radio,” “Bang Bang,” and “Still Breathing.” They also played hit songs from their extensive catalog reaching as far back as “2,000 Light Years Away” off of 1992’s Kerplunk!. The two and half hour set was filled with amazing pyrotechnics and two encores. Check out the full set list below and do yourself a favor and see Green Day live as soon as possible.
