The 2018 Academy Awards are in the books! After months of prognosticating and predicting, the Oscars have been handed out. There were no envelope malfunctions this year, but there was still plenty to talk about!
This year, ThePopBreak.com’s editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin and film editor Dan Cohen are joined by senior writer Chris Diggins to discuss the ceremony. Chris was the winner of our first ever Oscar Pool. He correctly predicted 20 winners, and was tied with senior writer Marisa Carpico, but due to a tiebreaker (and a concession), he was won the pool. He will now be referred to as “Lord Christopher Diggins – Official Oscar Prognosticator of ThePopBreak.com.”
In this podcast the trio discuss the actual awards show itself — the humor, the presenters, and the show’s engagement with the social and political movements currently happening within Hollywood.
They also take a deep dive into the battle between “the hear and the head.” They explain why they made their predictions, but also who they thought really should’ve taken home the gold.
