Review: Scarlett’s Strike Force #3

I think it’s over. It has to be over. No more solicits for future issues.

The artwork, atrocious.

The writing, Primus, awful.

The plot, concept, were just mind-cavingly bad.

I don’t know what IDW was thinking when they opted for this branch of the GI Joe universe. From what I understand, this new GI Joe series, independent from R.A.H. was pretty well received, until the cross-branding Revolution and First Strike crisis arcs hit.

All I can say, I am glad it’s over. The end attempted to make me feel “aw, I wish they would keep going” except all I could feel was relief as I closed the comic, put it back in my bag and board, back into my storage box, hopefully never to be seen again.

I couldn’t do a proper review, even if I wanted to. I just do not understand what the purpose or the plotline was. The only tale which seemed coherent, is Decepticon Skywarp ultimately betraying one group of humans for another, in order to get his special abilities back. As for the rest of the Joes, I don’t even know.

GI Joe: Scarlett’s Strike Force gets a -17 out of 10, and may Primus have mercy on my soul.

GI Joe: Scarlett’s Strike Force #3 is available at comic book retailers everywhere.
