Justin Timberlake Proves He’s The Man (Once Again) at The Garden

Pop Break Live: Justin Timberlake at Madison Square Garden – March 22, 2018

The last time I saw Justin Timberlake perform live was about 17 years ago when *NSYNC performed at the IZOD Center during their PopOdyssey tour.

A lot has changed since then.

Boy bands vanished, resurfaced, and vanished again from pop music. *NSYNC haven’t toured together in almost two decades. Oh, and the IZOD Center doesn’t exist anymore. The one thing that certainly has not changed is the fact that Justin Timberlake can still thrill an audience. After an impressive Super Bowl performance, JT has returned with a new album and tour and we were lucky enough to get a chance to see it at Madison Square Garden.

While most artists that have the ability to play an arena as large as MSG perform on one side of the venue, Timberlake’s Man of the Woods stage took up the entire floor. The S shaped stage featured wilderness decor, curtains with animations projected onto it, and a built in bar for VIPs. JT and his dancers made use of the entire space and made sure the entire floor gets a chance to see them perform up close and personal, while those in the surrounding seats get to watch a full performance on the big screen.

The massive 26-song set list explored most of the songs of Man of the Woods with current hits like ‘Filthy,’ and ‘Say Something.’ He also performed past favorites like ‘SexyBack,’ ‘Mirrors,’ and ‘Cry Me A River,’ as well as covers from a wide range of artists such as Fleetwood Mac, John Denver, The Beatles, and Lauryn Hill.

While most artists at this level put on a great show, Justin Timberlake is in a class all his own and his Man of the Woods tour is something that simply needs to be experienced live.
