Sarah McLachlan to Headline Charity Show at Paramount Theatre

This just in: The Grammy Award winning artists Sarah McLachlan and Patty Griffin will be performing a benefit concert for Mary’s Place By the Sea on Saturday, July 28 at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Mary’s Place by the Sea, a non-profit respite home based in Ocean Grove, New Jersey that provides accommodations and services free of charge for women who are receiving treatment for cancer.

The event, “An Intimate Evening with Sarah McLachlan and Patty Griffin” will give fans an opportunity to experience McLachlan’s signature-style acoustic set complete with story-telling elements, and Patty Griffin’s country and folk-tinged songs that speak from the soul.

As one of the most celebrated singer/songwriters, Sarah McLachlan has won three Grammy Awards, 12 Juno Awards and most recently, she was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at 2017’s Juno Awards. Known for her emotionally-charged lyrics and mezzo-soprano vocal range, her music has garnered over 40 million albums sold worldwide. Some of her biggest hits are “In the Arms of an Angel” and “I Will Remember You,” which are sure to ring a bell in your mind.

Patty Griffin is an accomplished singer/songwriter in the folk genre, and has won multiple awards including Artist of the Year and Best Album from the Americana Music Association in 2007 and a Grammy for Best Traditional Gospel Album in 2011. Songs you may know by Griffin include “Let Him Fly” and “Heavenly Day.”
